Whether you're engaging a consultant for the first time, investigating options to supplement your existing support network, or following up on a recommendation, MQC is pleased to provide more information. Direct requests to Megan Queen Cantwell at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do you work with individuals?
We do. Initial consultations, always free, are our time to hear about your needs and goals, tell you about our capabilities, and discuss the potential return on your investment in MQC services. We'll only enter a consulting contract if we believe we can provide a good value.
Our standard fee, regardless of service type, is $200 per hour. If you're seeking assistance to develop a straightforward strategic plan or to write an application for a small individual grant, a free initial consultation will sometimes provide you with enough guidance to get started. For more assistance without a large investment, community service organizations, local colleges and universities, public libraries, and experienced peers can also offer low- or no-cost support.
MQC also reserves 15 percent of its time for assisting individuals and organizations that have limited resources but show potential for high-impact innovation, discovery, or service delivery outcomes.
Do you offer discounts or negotiate your fees?
Yes. We provide a 10-percent discount on all services to existing clients - individuals and organizations that have worked with MQC in the past year, under the Partnership Development Policy. Members of the Grants Resource Center of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities also receive a 10-percent discount.
We conceived our transparent, flat-fee pricing as a key differentiator between MQC and the typical consultant pricing model. It's a fact that many organizations believe they can't afford to hire an external consultant, or that an affordable consulting contract will spin out, with consulting fees adding up with each phone call or email.
During the initial consultation, we discuss project scope in relation to budget and arrive at a not-to-exceed project fee. This provides clients with peace of mind and allows MQC to focus on project outcomes without regard to hours spent on the project.
